AluCase End Panel Technical Data
Alucases can be supplied in any length upto 1.5Mtr. You may specify any graphic design for the End Panels and Top of the case, in addition you may specify a label for the base of the case.
In order for us to custom mill the end panels and prescision cut Graphic overlays, Data for milling of holes and cutting of graphics should be supplied in digital format. We can accept hand drawn layouts and non standard digital artwork, however there maybe a conversion charge, a charge for proofs and we will require your approval before manufcature.
Data for end panel production should be supplied in two formats:
- Milling of holes and cut outs in the end panel. This should be provided in Gerber 274 or 274 X format. The same as you would supply to your PCB manufacturer for your printed circuits. Simply take the dimensions fromt he design files that we provide and use them to construct a PCB with a board outline and holes that match your requirments for the apertures you wish to see in the end panel. We recommend reviewing your gerber files in GC-Preview before sending them to us.
- Provided free of charge, GC-Prevue is the industry standard software for viewing and printing electronic manufacturing data. GC-Prevue reads all of the common CAD generated electronic manufacturing outputs, including Gerber-X (RS-274X), Gerber-D (RS-274D), DPF (Barco), Excellon, Sieb & Meyer, HPGL, and HPGL2. Since it's original release in 1987, GraphiCode has steadily improved GC-Prevue, thanks to its use by tens of thousands in the PCB industry.
- Graphics and cutouts in the Overlay. Cut out data should be provided in DXF format (we can convert your gerbers to DXF). Graphic overlay images can be provided in most graphic formats, though we prefer JPG. You may embed your complete design in EPS format.
You may simply provide a scetch of the required graphics and any logo along with your gerbers, we can layout your graphics for you if you ahve no specific design requirments.
When CNC cutting braphic overlays or Milling cutouts and end panels the bottom left hand corner of our equipment is used as the origin. This translates to the bottom left corner of the object as viewed on the computer screen or paper drawing. Drawings or dxf files must be supplied with the box or end plate in the correct orientation relative to this origin, and dimensions (not required for dxf files) must be from this point.
The correct orientation for an end plate is with its centre line vertical and the screw holes offset towards the top of the page (end plates for AluCase A, B and C) or with the central extra screw hole towards the bottom of the page (end plate for AluCase D). The origin for these plates will be where the left and bottom edges intersect. This is actually just off the edge of the end plate because the corner is radiused. The end plates are milled from blank sheets of material thus screw holes do need to be provided as part of the information for the dxf or drawing.
If you want to supply us with a CAD drawing in dxf format the easiest way to start is to download the appropriate end plate dxf from our website, add the required holes (in a different colour, preferably black).
Panel design data.
Branding Panel
You should design your top panel label to fill the branding depression on the top surface of the AluCase, this depression will be as long as you choice of Alucase length and the width will vary depending on the AluCase A,B,C or D dimensions as below.
The graphic panel will be digitally printed over Silver to match the Silver AluCase. Your graphics / Text will be printed over the Silver base colour as you can see on the image above. Alternatively you can specify your Top Panel to be printed on White or Clear ( clear will NOT be over laminated and Will shows the underlying AluCase material - and any marks on it)
AluCase A: 25mm
AluCase B: 48mm
AluCase C: 48mm
AluCase D: 71mm
